Free is never ‘free’. You get what you pay for. I think I’ve even heard myself say those phrases, more than once. If you’re attending the Maine Successful Thinkers meetup tonight at Thatcher’s in South Portland, you’ll get a chance to win a free headshot from MaineHeadshot.com. This isn’t a...

So you’re an actor or model, and you’ve been to a photographer who has taken a groovy picture of you.  You’re the proud owner of a high-resolution digital file…but what do you do now? The next step is to have a color or B&W 8 x 10 print made (lots...

I was recently asked the difference is between a business and actor/model  headshots.  While the aim of each is to show the subject in an attractive way, they are different animals. Business headshots show a business professional in a somewhat conventional pose with even lighting and a plain background.  The...

Everyone who relies on Facebook and other social media sites to market their brand and news needs to keep things fresh.  That’s why I enjoy working with the McGowan for Maine campaign</a>.  I did some work with them in December and got some portraits of an active-looking Pat McGowan at...

You’re not a teacher.  You’re not a lawyer.  You’re an employee but you’re more than that: a skilled operator, able to break out and unleash your talents for a variety of employers.  In short, you’re President and CEO of You, Inc. It sounds funny, but we all should be concerned...
  6. What’s an avatar…and why do I care?

Time was, only realtors and lawyers needed headshots. Now, more than ever, we all do. With so many people on social media platforms like Facebook–even my 75-year-old mother–and with so many businesses using them as a way to get the word out about their products and services, a great headshot...
  7. Size up your Avatar

It’s our standard practice to offer headshots in a variety of web-resolution sizes/crops if we know a client is planning to use them as their social media avatars. It just makes sense that a great professional headshot would be used everywhere–on Twitter, Facebook, etc that your professional brand is displayed....

Ok…so our studio isn’t exactly new.  Fitzgerald Photo and Blush Imagery both are based out of Maine Studio B, our great space at 28 Maple St. in Portland-and come May we’ll celebrate our one-year anniversary. But time has flown by so fast, and we’ve done so much, that we still...
